frustration

So, today went pretty much as expected. Up, devotions, exercise, shower, cereal. Then I got started on the logo design. Worked on that until lunch, and then Mr. made sandwiches. Clean-up, and got ready to head to the restaurant. Mr. led a Bible study, and I counted money again. Our friend got home from the US today, so our responsibilities there are over for now.
I had a talk with one disgruntled employee there. It isn't the first time she has talked to me. Right now is a really slow season for the restaurant. She is the cleaner, though, so her job doesn't vary much. Not so the kitchen staff, though. If they don't have people to cook for, they are just kind of sitting around, waiting. She thinks they should help her if they don't have anything to do.
I tried in SO many different ways to explain to her that in a business, people have different job descriptions, and they don't usually cross over or help each other. It's totally appropriate to help each other at home, but in the work place, everyone has a specific job to do. I said she has her job, and they have theirs. But it was one of those times when no matter what I said, nothing was sinking in. It was just like I was trying to explain rocket science. Frustrating. Anyway, it isn't necessarily my problem to solve. I tried to help, but my friend is going to have to field that one, ultimately.
Back home, I worked on another logo. I drew this one out by hand initially, whereas the one this morning I created on the computer. Then, I needed to scan my sketch and work with it on the computer. Unfortunately, I just got a new operating system, and the scanner driver was not working. I tried to find an update, but I am afraid that the machine is maybe too old to work with my new OS. I worked and worked until supper time to figure it out, but no luck. Another frustrating episode.
Supper, and again, too much TV. :-(
But not as bad as yesterday.
The kitty has been sweet, sweet, sweet. A little more cuddly the past few days. I just love it when she sits on my lap, rests up against my chest, and looks up in my face. Just pure joy.
So, tomorrow. Lots of work to do. The scanner set me back today. Grrr.
