Today was a very C day.
Car horns. We started out before dawn with a car horn
apparently getting stuck. It went on for an eternity. OK, I'm sure it was more
like 3 or 4 minutes, but have you ever listened to a horn blow continuously for
that long? It seems like forever. Especially when it awakens you from a sound
sleep.
Car alarms. Apparently, the car horn must have made all the
other cars jumpy and nervous, because just about the time I was drifting back
to sleep, a car alarm went off. It was silenced relatively quickly, but the
damage was done. I was awake. A while later, another let loose. So much for
sleep.
Calisthenics. Sorry. That's stretching it. Just wanted to
let you know I got in my exercise and devotions.
Coaching. I met a client on-line to coach. Unfortunately,
the neighbors below us decided to fix the clamorous car horn from last night,
so our conversation was punctuated with horn blasts—just to make sure it
worked, I guess. Oh, and did I mention the construction going on next door? A
pounding sledge hammer and a screaming drill. I had the worst time hearing her,
but she seemed pleased with the results of our conversation anyway. An hour
later, I got to meet on-line with MY coach and be on the receiving end. Very
helpful and appreciated.
Computer games. Just a short waste of time, immediately
after lunch. Mr. made sandwiches. He's a pro.
Clinic. I had an appointment this afternoon at a foreign-run
clinic to meet with a dermatologist. I think I mentioned I had not been
satisfied with my last attempt to have a national doctor look at the spot on my
chin. This doctor, however, took it a lot more seriously. And yes, he dropped
the big "C" bomb. Oh, he called it "carcinoma" but we both
knew he was talking skin cancer. He numbed the area and took a biopsy. We'll
know for sure by the beginning of August.
Crap. Another new experience before I'm 40—I think I could
have waited a few decades for this one.
(Confidential! If you're reading this and you know my mom,
please don't mention anything before we get the results back. No reason to
concern her until we know for sure. Thanks!)
Clutter. As everyone knows, it's very therapeutic to clean
things when you get bad news. Unfortunately, our housekeeper was due today and
really didn't need my help, so I attacked some boxes of junk under our bed.
Satisfying progress was made.
Chili. Mr. did it again, and found an awesome recipe
on-line. Again we worked together on supper and it turned out delicious! Have
you ever heard of a chili recipe with white wine in it?? Me neither, but it's
definitely a keeper.
Capone. After supper Mr. was excited to show me "The
Untouchables", about Eliot Ness, the guy who took down Al Capone. Mr. is
concerned that I am a bit lacking in my knowledge of the classics. :-) I love
him so much!
Cat. Well, I didn't play with her as much as I should have.
I think I'll go find her now and see what we can do about that.
