media

So, today was mostly a media day. And by that I mean that I worked on a power point presentation most of the day, along with some e-mails, and then spent the evening watching a movie with friends.
The movie, unfortunately, was a poor copy. Yes, we live in the land of pirated DVDs. There is just nothing else available here. And if you try for a recent release, they are usually video taped right in the movie theater. Not great for sound or picture quality. I actually saw one once that had been taped by someone eating popcorn. You could hear him crunching through the whole movie. Also, he would laugh at funny parts and the camera would shake up and down. Ugh.
So, we gave up on that movie and watched one of the recent BBC Sherlock Holmes series. I believe that one was a torrent download. I'm telling you; we can't get anything that isn't ripped off here. But WOW! Great show! I'm hooked after seeing just one!
That was my whole day except for exercising and a trip to the doctor. No, the trip to the doctor was not for my knee. I have a weird skin thing on my chin. One spot has small white bumps, which now and then get dry and the skin peels off. Just in that one small area. It has been going on now for over a year, and I didn't pay much attention to it. Doesn't itch or hurt or anything. But I have been noticing that it's now beginning to leave a scar. And that's not cool. The Dr. wasn't much help, though. He said it's nothing to worry about because it isn't cancer, and there isn't much you can do for it anyway. I'm happy it's not cancer, but not satisfied with the "there's nothing you can do for it" part. Going to try my own self-medicating for a bit.
Anyway, while I was there I had him look at my knee, too. Not much to see; it didn't even hurt at the right times (when he was poking and prodding). He did, however, say that if it's bothering me, I should stop doing the activity that irritates it. Which is exactly what I knew he would say, which is why I avoided going for it before this.
He also suggested losing weight might help lessen the strain on the knee. And I explained that I am exercising to lose weight, and that's what has caused the problem. Sigh. This is so frustrating.
Also frustrating: I wanted to be finished with that power point project today, but I still have a bit to go on it. It is going to make tomorrow feel more crowded and pressured (it's needed for Sunday at church).
And the best way to get a good start to the day is actually to get to bed now, tonight. It's not early; early is already past. But I can get to bed before it gets much later. Night!
