The kitty just climbed up on my chest like when she was a
kitten, and laid there cuddling and purring for about 10 minutes. She rarely
does that anymore. Well, except at 4 or 5 in the morning, and it's a little
harder to enjoy then. (But I still manage to, actually.) What is it about that
that fills me with such happiness and peace? It's insane to take so much
comfort in a little furry critter! But what a rare precious treat anyway.
On top of that, it wasn't a bad day. I was busy, but not
crazy busy. I tried some new strength training exercises that seem positive. I
had time to walk to a meeting.
I don't ever want to get so busy again that a 10-15 minute
walk isn't an option, when the destination is near. It is such a clearing,
focusing activity. It's also the best time to look around for beauty and snap
some good photos. Think I got some nice ones today.
So, the one I'm posting is not beautiful, necessarily, but
it is interesting. There is a province in this country known for its red clay
pots. Many of the vendors still sell from a cart drawn by two big cows—even
here in the capital city. The incongruity of ancient mixing with modern never
ceases to strike me. Anyway, I'd love to give this photo a caption: "See,
I told you it was a left by the big palm tree, but would you listen?
Nooooo…" Ha ha.
Basically, it was a good day.
One exception: in spite of my best efforts to alter my
exercises, protect my knee and let it heal, it popped in a very weird way when
I was putting my pants on this afternoon, of all things. It hurts in a
completely different place now. What in the world? That was the only downer in
an otherwise positive day.
And I think I'm going to cap off the positivity with an
early bed time.
Besides, a happy and content person is simply not as good a
read as one who is struggling and down. It's a well-known literary fact. ;-)
