orange

Well, I was hoping for an early bed time tonight. I was showered and relaxing on the bed a little before 9 pm, the kitty curled up happily in my arms, thinking "All I need to do is a quick blog and then I'll curl up just as happily as the kitty." Then, BAM, I remembered it was Monday, and I had to write our weekly e-mail update. Shoot.

Now it's marching on toward 11, and I'm just getting to the blog. On the up side, the kitty remained in a cuddly mood, and slept in my indian-style lap much of the time. Mmmm. Contentment.

I am coming right along on the painting. I got my first bits of color on the walls today. They are going to be orange. Yes, my least favorite color ever. I chose a color from a card, ignoring my first instincts to choose a more muted, terra cotta orange, opting instead for a bright, Sunkist orange type of color. As my Mr. said, it's a small space, and a brighter color will help it feel bigger.

So, I opened the can this afternoon to begin cutting in. My heart kind of sank. It was bright alright. Safety vest orange. The owner of the restaurant, however, was not concerned, and it went on the walls. As it dried it did darken a shade or two, and my Mr. is assures me that a second coat will deepen the color even more. I sure hope so.

Tomorrow is the last day I have to paint, as my friend wants to open the restaurant on Wednesday. Yikes. I'll have to hustle. I'm going to rag roll the top half of the walls. (The bottom half are the solid orange.)

I totally deserve a massage when this project is done.
