I was so exhausted last night. I was ready for bed around
9:30 and definitely asleep by 10. And I didn't get up this morning until 10. It
could have been a restful 12 hours of sleep, except for the fact that it was
punctuated by kitty attacks.
She had missed us so much for the two days we were gone. I
just think that she gets terribly bored. And so she was beside herself with
excitement when we came back. She zipped and chased around the house. But she
couldn't seem to understand when we chose to cut play time short to go to bed.
The first time she woke me up she climbed on my chest and
sat down, purring. She has also begun kneading her claws recently, which always
seemed to be a kitten thing to me, but is just a recent development for her. As
I slowly became aware of her (knead, knead, prick, prick, ouch, ouch!) I woke
from a deep slumber. I actually felt refreshed and figured I had already slept
for a long time. Imagine my dismay when I looked at the clock and it was only
12:30! I got up and chased her around a little anyway, hoping to wear her out
so I could get more sleep.
And it worked to some degree. I went back to bed and when
she pounced on me again I could see dawn beginning to streak the sky. So I knew
some significant time had passed. However, there she was again, knead, mewing,
purring. Afraid she would disturb Mr, I took the kitty out of the bedroom to
quiet her and play.
Still, I wasn't yet filled with sleep (as they might say int
he national language) so after a while I curled back up in bed again. I was
barely aware of Mr. when he got up an hour or two later.
The rest of today was very quiet; really didn't do much. But
I'm exhausted again. And the kitty is waiting for some rough-housing. And I'm
nodding off with my computer on my lap again. Definitely time to call it quite for tonight.
PS: The photo is the kitty at one of her favorite activities: shredding cardboard boxes!
