[Note: Because of an internet glitch, I couldn't post this blog yesterday. It's really a post for Thursday, April 5.]
Ha ha. Maybe since I have a little more time on my hands,
I'll try to make all the blog titles for this week rhyme.
So, it was a lazy, laid-back day. Slept in (did NOT see the
sunrise this morning). Breakfast. A bit too much internet work, beach. Lunch,
nap, more internet time. Seafood supper, swimming pool, card games.
Potentially the perfect vacation day, except for the draw of
the internet and the lingering pressure that comes from knowing I have this
on-line class to tend to.
The professor finally put up the reading for this week, and
HOLY COW!!!! I need to read the entire books of Jeremiah and Lamentations by
Monday, as well as 6 .pdf articles. Doesn't he know I'm on vacation??? It looks
like tomorrow will be a reading day.
The cut on my heel is not proving to be as much of a factor
as I had feared. I was able to successfully navigate sand, salt water, and
chlorine with relatively little pain. I'm glad, because I'd hate to be a drag
for everyone else.
I'm really enjoying just hanging out with these friends.
It's kind of a case of, when we all lived in the same place, we rarely got
together, because we figured we could do it any time. But the times we did
spend together were really sweet. We knew they'd always have our backs, and we had
theirs.
Then, when Mr. and I moved to another part of the country,
we made a point to meet up with these friends when we passed through each other's town. Strangely
enough, we saw each other almost as often as we did before. Now that we're
looking at moving out of the country completely, to diverse parts of the globe,
time together seems more and more precious.
I hope we keep up with each other when life takes us in
separate directions.
