Well, tomorrow is the 3k. Today I went through the final registration, got the number to pin on my clothes, and received a free T-shirt. A few friends have joined me here, but they are running the 21k (a half marathon). Crazy. Anyway, I don't think their achievement will undermine my own sense of accomplishment if I manage to jog all 3 kilometers. It's a goal which I have been working toward steadily, and I will feel quite good if I meet it.
We begin rather early by most standards; my group starts out at 6:50. However, that's about an hour later than I usually get out to exercise at home, so it will be just fine.
As I mentioned, we have met up with a few friends. We were together much of the day today, and I was hesitant and a little shy to ask them to wait while I stopped to snap photos for the blog. So, it's another night photo.
I am noticing that I am really drawn to scenes where there is rhythm and repetition—a series of similar things at regular intervals. I find the repetition quite comforting and peaceful. Hope they aren't boring to others!
My Mr. got to hang out with some guy friends today. I was happy about that; he rarely gets that opportunity. I hope he had a good time. The funny thing is, all of the wives are running tomorrow, all of the husbands are just along for the ride (to cheer us on, and drink beer). All in all it should be a pretty fun day. I will finish much earlier than the other ladies, so I'm going to be crashing some of the "man time". Hope they don't mind!
